Elton John? Huh? A duet with Elton John and Dolly Parton singing some sandal-wearing hippie "Imagine all the people sharing all the world" song. Though anticlimactic after the Elton-Dolly Express...--Billy Joel and Shania Twain presented Entertainer of the Year? I usually don't watch CBS unless there's a football game I want to watch...and almost never watch stupid award shows...but what a joke. Sure, I'm all for "country-fying" some of those weirdos.....but some of it is getting a bit ridiculous. I don't like watching the award shows anymore. It's just a bunch of celebrities pumping each other's egos. LOOK AT ME----kind of thing. And though I listen to ALL kinds of music.....the rock-n-roll, pop scene has gotten filthier and filthier and filthier. As a matter of fact...there are a few country music videos I would prefer that my children NEVER see. Sad, isn't it? You've got Trace Adkins' new song "Honkytonk Badonkadonk" and that other song "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" and then the ever-popular "Melt" by Rascal Flatts. Which, those songs by theirselves wouldn't really be that bad....til you put a VIDEO with them. Sorry, but my boys won't be watching that kinda stuff. Just happened to see the Bon Jovi thing, and I kept saying to myself "is that John BonJovi? That looks like Bon Jovi......" Yeah, certainly weird. Country's getting a little too pop for me. Paul Simon? that's another story. What kills me is what appears to be the next big wave in Country----the trailer trash girl. Gretchen Wilson started it and now there is some other girl that sang a rock song (blonde). Don't care for either of them. Overall, I thought it was great. I love Leanne Womack but what was up with her dresses and her posture? The dresses were HORRIBLE and she stood there at the mic like she was trying to pee standing up!! It was odd! They should keep em country....! You don't see a bunch of country folks at the rap awards (not sure what they're called) do you? When LeAnn Rimes came out on stage with that guy from the Sopranos I was like, uh...... what does he have to do with country music? OH, and did anyone else happen to notice the see through factor in the bottom part of Allison Krauss' dress?! Only thing I enjoyed about the awards was Keith Urban, but, his voice was all squeaky like he was going through puberty or something while he was singing! Oh well, he's still hot. Just didn't quite seem right, I flipped to it here and there until Sugarland came on then didn't watch it anymore.
