VTbowman Posted November 26, 2005 Report Share Posted November 26, 2005 I had just bought the Great Big Can and to me its longer then the littler one I have. Louder and more drawn out. I think it sounds really good, especially if you cover it partially and waiver the sound with your hand or fingers. I used it for the 1st time last week and had a small buck coming running out of the woods looking for a doe. I even mouth bleeted at him to turn him from troting away for a closer look at him. He was definately in rut and I strongly feel he came to that call. I shot that same buck two days later when he responded again and I got a closer look. I agree with you. Why would they make a call that scares deer away. LOL Either your uncle was pulling your leg or mis-heard what the info was on the hunting show. I was going to buy the big can but it is a longer bleat and I think it sounds kind of dumb but that is my own personal opinion. I have had good luck with the can call so I will stick with it.
