was wondering how long these have been out, if you had see them and what your thoughts are.

I hope this post isnt taken the wrong way crazy.gif

Re: Bush Beer and RT??

When I killed my first doe in TX this year we took it to the processor and went to grab a bite to eat. It was a Sunday and a preacher sat down beside us and ask if we killed anything yet. I told him one guy had tagged out and he said "Guess he doesn't have a reason come down and drink now does he. I about fell out of my chair. Then later in the conversation he made a comment about riding horses. He said "We don't ride them this time of year cause of hunters thinking they were deer and that he could shoot it just let him get the saddle off first. I had considered attending church there but after that there is no way.

Hunter get stereotyped alot. Everybody thinks that we drink, hunt, and chase wild women when we are at camp. Some people might but when I am there I eat, sleep, and hunt. Period!!!!!!!

I know where your going. Hunter packs does kinda sound bad. i have never seen them, but like Bush so I would buy them. smile.gif Hopfully no one drinks the stuff while hunting though.... mad.gif

Same reason I bought one. I love bush or BL Smoothie as we call them and have been known to put one or 12 away AFTER the hunt when we get together for butchering.

I have no p[roblem with them but like chris said im from granville and i can tell ya what 90% of the people around here say when they see that sort of thing.

I guess the numbers don't lie. Too bad really, because it does reflect bad on all hunters. Personally, I don't want to be associated with a booze guzzlin, yahoo hunter crowd.

Sad part is, I bet the booze guzzlin hunter numbers are a lot higher than you think.

I got no problem with a few drinks after the day is over, but I've seen too much in my lifetime to pretend it is that way. crazy.gif

Hunters pack the essentials

Tuesday, November 15, 2005

JEREMIAH STETTLER

THE SAGINAW NEWS

With whiskers unshaven and shirt pockets stuffed with beef jerky, deer hunters plunged into the Michigan woods today for opening day of the firearm season.

These hunters, searching for a trophy amid a shrunken whitetail population, are lugging all the necessities -- sausage, cheese spread and beer aplenty.

That's the word at Norm's Market, a Richville meat packer and grocery where hunters are known to prowl the aisles days before the hunt.

hey come in droves, meat clerks say, rivaling the Thanksgiving rush in sales volume with order upon order of bacon, liver paste and beef sticks.

These customers of the camouflage variety often scope out summer sausage, beef jerky and a seasoned round steak known as "tiger meat" that hunters eat raw. The cheeses go fast. So does the beer.

"We're real busy," said Cheryl Lisee, a meat clerk at Norm's. "We get a lot of guys shopping and a lot of wives coming in to send them off, too."

While the market ships meat out by the shopping cart today, officials say it will come in by the truckload this weekend.

Owner Craig Rupprecht said his market has butchered up to 100 deer a day on the first weekend of the hunt. Saturday, Sunday and Monday are golden.

Typically, the market processes about 325 whitetail deer a year, but numbers have declined with the deer population in recent years. Rupprecht reported 100 fewer animals last year.

So what of this year?
