I have no trouble sitting for 6 or 7 hoursin one. They run about $90, and we put the gorrila footrest on all out stands, another $18. In fact, they are very easy to hang. But, they aren't really "locked" onto a tree like a ratchet strap does on most treestands. So, I climbed in one of my Summit's to take out my EZ Hangers since I was going to take that stand down. This stand has been rock solid all year. It was about 13 degrees out the day I went to take it down. I got in it and wouldn't you know it, it dropped down about 4". Apparantly, those straps aren't made for cold weather. My other Summit also slide down a bit, but only about 2". Not so sure I want to hunt out of that stand for late season or not. That is why I'm looking at API's. They ratchet strap down. I made them secure by adding 2 ratchet straps per stand...they dont move at all then. Due to my posterior situation being somewhat larger than your average bear I added a larger seat section with plywood and bolts...works great now. I put two rachet straps on it and it is my favorite loc on. It is heavy to haul and put up but once it is there you can forget it. I can sit all day in it. The only problem I have is falling asleep in it. I paid about 75 dollars for it two years ago at Natchez shooter supply. I order from there website. If summit hang on stands are as comfortable as their climbers, I would not hesitate to buy one. Ive got some square tubing laying out here I need to do something with though and been thinking about welding up a couple hang ons and some stick ladders. [/ QUOTE ] No. Their hang-on's aren't near as comfy as their climbers. But, I stand a lot so comfort isn't the most important thing for me. You might be surprised at the difference in diameter! Two straps is always good. How often do we check straps for tightness after sitting in our stands a few times? But I've got 5 or 6 of them and have used them for years (from -15 degrees to 80 degrees) and have had ZERO issues with stability. Cost around $80.
