dogdoc Posted December 11, 2005 Report Share Posted December 11, 2005 I just received the pic and story off the AP. It was a cold Canada morning and Steve (aka Buckee on RT) was set to go hunting. As he arrived to his hunting spot he realized he had forgot his bow at home. Being a true hunter he wasn't going to let that spoil his hunting day. Armed only with a large knife Steve set out to put food on the table for his family. After blowing a few stalking attempts Steve located a nice blacktail buck feeding in some thick cover. He approached the buck with caution--pulled out his weapon and leaped on the bucks back. Witnesses say you had to be there to truely see the hunter's skill. After latching on to the bucks antlers Steve was able to bring his "sword" down thru the buck vitals. "It was an experience of a lifetime." said the Canadian painter. "I wasn't going to let the fact I forgot my bow at home spoil my hunt!" Steve will be nominated for the Canadian Hunter's Hall of Fame later this year for his heroic act.
