MossySNPR
Re: Yote Hunting Comp, I also have to use my shotgun for yotes. I use a Browing 12 ga. pump, and the field I focus on, I usually only shoot about 60-70-80 yards. I hunt the woods outside of the field and move around after that. I usually load two slugs and one 00BUCK. If I think I might be shooting a little closer, one slug and two 00BUCK shots. (in order) Once you get really good with your shotgun you can learn to mix it up alot. I just try to make the first shot count and hey, if I miss the first shot and am forced to take a yote on the run, those 00BUCK shots sure come in handy. MossySNPR
Re: Yote Hunting Sabots are good slugs man, I have shot many brands from my gun and they were right up there with Federals, but the best slugs with my gun are Challengers, I get a few more yards with them. WaCoyote
Re: Yote Hunting This subject gets beat to death and it's always the same old thing. Put away the 00 buck and the slugs!!!!! If you actually want to hit the dog use size 4 buck down to bb. No steel shot!!! Hevishot has a load called "Dead Coyote" which is size T tungsten. Thats about perfect. The reason for smaller shot is the greater likelyhood of a complete miss with the big stuff. 00 has 9 pellets at 40 yds those spread out quite a bit. So either do what the pros do and use the best shot size available or listen to the online "experts" who frankly watch to many movies. I shoot a lot of coyotes every year and I think I've read every book I've seen in the last 25 years. In not one case has ANYBODY suggested slugs. Coyotes are a very small target boys. If you actually hit it you'll turn it inside out.
