Guest Colorado Bob
Anyone have plans for an out of state gobbler this spring? I'm getting one together for a Rio in TX. I'll probably go down the second weekend in April & combine it with a hog hunt. Then maybe in 07 a PA hunt----that hopefully will give 3/4 of the slam. I not sure I want to pay big dollars for an Osceola. CB

Lumpy
Re: Plans for out of state Gobbler? I will be heading to California first, then Missouri and by the time I get back hopefully most of the snow will be melted enough here in Colorado to chase our Merriams God Bless
Rhino
Re: Plans for out of state Gobbler? I'm headed to the King Ranch for a Rio hunt in April with 5 friends of mine and I'm planning on making a trip to Missouri too. I may take a spin up to Iowa after my Missouri trip if I draw a tag up there. I might be overdoing it a bit this year but I used to take an out of state trip every year and haven't made one in 4 or 5 years. At 51 I figure my tank is down to about a 1/3 now so I might as well enjoy my passion for spring turkey hunting to the fullest while I still can. huntn4bucks
Re: Plans for out of state Gobbler? I don't have any out of state turkey hunts planned for this spring. I guess I'll just have to continue banging these Alabama birds.

Guest cowpoke
Re: Plans for out of state Gobbler? Some day I would like to go back to Tennessee (went to grad school there) and hunt with one of my buddies who lives there, but it won't likely be this year with my work schedule like it is. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Plans for out of state Gobbler? Should be a good year in most of Texas. I'm seeing tons of birds right now. I've got a group of 9 toms that come by a corn feeder almost every morning. 4 of them are easily over 10 inches and one has a double beard. The Fall season is open right now, but I don't feel like sniping one with the 7 mag. I might try for one with a handgun if I get bored from deer hunting, but I'll probably just wait until Spring. waterfowler_gal
Re: Plans for out of state Gobbler? I applied but we will see for.... Minnesota, South Dakota Black Hills and Wisconsin. hutchies
Re: Plans for out of state Gobbler? $137 for hunting license plus $10 for turkey tag. I think you can only kill 2 birds total per year. Texas is fun hunting cause you can kill 4 birds in some counties.
