Matthews Switchback

Maybe the wrong place to post this, but maybe I won't get flogged to bad! grin.gif I am seriously considering switching to a Matthews Switchback from a Hoyt Ultra Mag and need some advice as to what to do. Shot the Matthews today and it is indeed a world of difference. Is this a wise move? Would you go with the regular Switchback or the Switchback XT? Need some info quick, because I am going to take care of business tomorrow.

Thanks

Scott

Re: Matthews Switchback

I would go witih the Switchback, probably the new XT. I never liked the feel of the Hoyt's and have been a Mathews guy. My only advice would be to check the bow you are buying carefully, particularly for idler wheel lean - this has been a problem with the Mathews Switchbacks of which I know first hand. Two friends have great ones, I have a lemon that I can't get the lean out so it shoots smooth and quiet but I can't get it tuned perfectly so I don't dare hunt with it and Mathews doesn't want to hear about it. I found out this is a common problem but if you check the thing and tune and shoot it before putting up your money for final purchase it should not be a problem. mY advice is make sure it is right when you pick it up or make them get you another.

Re: Matthews Switchback

I have shot the Switchback, and I honestly prefer the Outback over it. now the Switchback XT is a whole different story... It seems to be a combination of the things I love about the Outback, and the speed and smoothness of the cobra cam on the Switchback. I have held an XT, but didn't have the chance to shoot it. Honestly, I'm afraid if I were to shoot one, I would have to have one!
