Jeramie
Re: Oh man [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Not licensed and has never been on a jobsite in his life. [/ QUOTE ] Who's gonna hire an unlicensed builder???? That doesn't make any sense. Is he going to work under someone else's name or something? Best friend or not...did you tell him he was crazy??? [/ QUOTE ] Actually a vast majority of construction workers do not have a license, in Oklahoma. It is not required. I know countless around here including one BIG name residential construcion guy that does not carry any license. Welcome to Oklahoma..... In most cases, people go out for bids and throw away the highest and the lowest. They then pic their workers from somewhere in between. Jeramie
Re: Oh man [ QUOTE ] There is no county inspection here. It is rural so there are no inspectors. [/ QUOTE ] Most towns in Oklahoma dont have inspectors! Some of the larger towns and cities do but those are few and far between.

[/ QUOTE ] Ya'll don't have inspectors??????????????????? WOW. Do you even have to buy permits?????????? He better be glad he doesn't live in Florida. There's so much red tape involved in building here. [/ QUOTE ] Nope, only permits in certain areas such as Tulsa, OKC, etc. You can build a boarding school out of toothpics everywhere else.... No problems. There are only a handful of regs in Oklahoma (Mainly commercial) including the fire martial, OSHA, ADA, Etc. Very little of that applies to homes.
