VermontHunter
Re: Finally.... Spin Baby !! Spin !!!... I would dare to venture to say Gary, that extreme of an offset would be considered a helical... ,, unless the camera has presented an optical illusion to my eye.. Definately should keep those BH's nice and true....
buckee
Re: Finally.... WOW...that's some off-set. They'll be spinned before you let go of the string. They should be easy to find though
GWSmith
Re: Finally.... They should shoot good out of the Bow and Zero Effect rest The front of the vane is pointing down the shaft straight...the vane body is twisted pretty good though. Owe it all to my buddy ADKhunter who showed me how...thanks Buddy...I'll never pay anyone else to do this again!!!!!!! Why should they have all the fun I'm pretty happy with my first time fletching arrows...can ya tell???
VermontHunter
Re: Finally.... I couldn't believe how fun and easy it was either Gary,,,, It's rather addictive if you ask me. The great thing about fletching your own shafts that I have found, is that an arrow isn't unlike a rifle round, it can be tuned for your setup and different fletching configurations is the first step in accomplishing this, so the sky is the limit, unlike being comitted to what a bowshop has to offer... Hang on Gary the fun has just started....
buckee
Re: Finally.... I had problems getting the vanes to sit level on the shaft, if I tried putting too much off-set on em. What's the trick eh ?
VermontHunter
Re: Finally.... I just used some slight down pressure with my hand for a few seconds Steve, but this would depend on what type of fletcher you are using, I use the single Jo-Jan Fletcher... The Bohning Killer Vanes are to stout for this method however, the base of this vane is designed for just a straight or slight offset, to be used with the Whisker Biskit setup... The AAE Elites are great for extreme offsets tho, they are far more pliable...

I went with about a 2 degree off-set

Straight Shooter
Re: Finally.... They look great and should stablize very quickly. I'm just curious to the reflective part. How will the sun affect the visibility of them for others or deer to seeing them? Are they reflective for the purpose of finding them after the shot? After a pass through, will they not be covered in blood? I'm just curious and once again they look great.
VermontHunter
Re: Finally.... The reflective part is more so you can find your arrow after the shot, or if you don't get a complete pass through. As for it alearting deer I haven't heard of anyone having that problem as of yet....
