Monster in Lake Champlain?

My mom is watching the news behind me right now and they are doing a report on a "monster" that is supposedly living in Lake Champlain. They say the monster has been sighted hundreds of times, but no pictures good enough to prove anything. Now a few fishermen just got some new video of it while out fishing. It's authentic, it's been reviewed by the FBI..

From the mouth of the reporter... " Experts believe that the creature is a sturgeon, but the fisherman who are familiar with sturgeon say no because it had no dorsal fins and looks more like a serpent."

Kinda like mountain lions in NY, eh? Lots of sightings, no good pictures for identification.

Re: Monster in Lake Champlain?

I saw the video. You can see the tails fins of it for sure. It is NOT the tail of a sturgeon. ( I have seen plenty of those)

I would believe in this creature faster than bigfoot for sure. It may not be a serpent or some type of long lost "dinosaur" but it could definitely be some type of undiscovered aquatic life form.

Bigfoot, Loch Ness, etc. etc. etc. I have tended to believe in Loch Ness over all other reported "sightings" than anything else. Isn't Lake Champlain the deepest lake in the U.S. or something. There's no telling what could be living down there. Hey, there's things in the ocean they haven't discovered yet.

Re: Monster in Lake Champlain?

There's been talk of a 'monster' being in one of the lakes in this area too. This lake is very big, and DEEP (at least 300' in some spots) so experts say it's a BIG stergeon, there has been 150 pound stergeon caught in the lake before, so they figure its thte same sort of thing, but only about 500 pounds. There has been tons of sightings, so I doubt it's a myth!

Re: Monster in Lake Champlain?

How can you people have never heard of Champ!!!!

He's huge around here, and great for businesses. He's also the mascot for our Minor League ball club.

Vermont Lake Monsters

Y'all lead a sheltered life.........heck, Champ was even a story on Unsolved Mysteries years ago.

These creatures have lived in the lake forever......Samual DeChamplain spotted one when he found the lake, and more importantly, my anscestors have told stories of Champ for generations.....supposedly longer then white men have walked North America.
