IowaDeerHunter
Has anybody ever used the feather flex full strut tommy decoy? http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa...Cpod0024379.jsp I am thinking about getting one for this season to use, just curious if anyone has had any luck with them and how durable they are? Covehnter
Re: Full Strut Decoy I've used the half strut "Bubba" decoy many times, it's really effective in the proper situations and i wouldnt hesitate using it if i was dealing with a subborn longbeard. Only negative response i got was from a loudmouthed jake that was hot to trot until he saw the aggressive posture of the decoy.
hutchies
Re: Full Strut Decoy Just go buy some cheap $9.99 decoys. They work great. Killed 4 birds in one day last year with Sally Strutters.
maddhunter
Re: Full Strut Decoy I bought and used a full strut tom decoy from Montana Decoys last year. I Had a bunch of hens come in to it but no toms. I may not have been patient enough though, after the hens left I got up and moved to a different location. dartonman
Re: Full Strut Decoy I sent you a pm, he is a half strut bubba....he does intimidate smaller, less dominant birds......I dont have a full strutter, had the jake fan for a while, never had any luck with it at all............had a boy kill a 30 pound bird, on video, with a breeding pair, your jake on top of a hen, using a large black arrow to put em together, and put the other hen on the side lines......that ole boy came for a fight, I can get you the video for free....its by no means professional, but the bird is still smokin' after the shot, my camera man buddy was in the weeds in a bush rag suit, and the turkey looked right into the camera before the shot.................lol...........al
Exturkinator
Re: Full Strut Decoy I also do not use a tom... Only hens and a single passive jake

Dakota
Re: Full Strut Decoy I use the Flambeau Master Series threesome (passive jake, feeding hen, upright hen). Don't use the semi-strut/full strut jakes 'cause the less dominant birds will shy away. They are far more likely to come in if you have a passive jake (if you use a jake at all). Well, that's my 2 cents .
