Re: Full Strut Decoy

I've used the half strut "Bubba" decoy many times, it's really effective in the proper situations and i wouldnt hesitate using it if i was dealing with a subborn longbeard. Only negative response i got was from a loudmouthed jake that was hot to trot until he saw the aggressive posture of the decoy.

Re: Full Strut Decoy

I sent you a pm, he is a half strut bubba....he does intimidate smaller, less dominant birds......I dont have a full strutter, had the jake fan for a while, never had any luck with it at all............had a boy kill a 30 pound bird, on video, with a breeding pair, your jake on top of a hen, using a large black arrow to put em together, and put the other hen on the side lines......that ole boy came for a fight, I can get you the video for free....its by no means professional, but the bird is still smokin' after the shot, my camera man buddy was in the weeds in a bush rag suit, and the turkey looked right into the camera before the shot.................lol...........al

Re: Full Strut Decoy

I use the Flambeau Master Series threesome (passive jake, feeding hen, upright hen). Don't use the semi-strut/full strut jakes 'cause the less dominant birds will shy away. They are far more likely to come in if you have a passive jake (if you use a jake at all). Well, that's my 2 cents grin.gif.
