Writing a book...

My brother has been on me for years telling me I need to write a book of all my various huntin stories. Well I finally started one, we'll have to wait and see if I ever finish it but I at least have an outline and have started puttin some of it together. This one's going to just be my turkey hunting stories, will have more mistakes than successes in it but thats how it goes.

Anyway here's the dumb question for all you - does anyone read books anymore grin.gif or is everyone just the magazine article type reader?

Re: Writing a book...

Depends on what the reading is man, usually if its to do with hunting, its going to get read by me.

You have a good chance at your books being read, ESPECIALLY turkey stories, I work at a retail store in the sports department and my main sections are hunting, fishing and camping. People buy lots of books on both ice fishing and turkey hunting(in the seasons) because these two things tend to be a little complicated or technical to most.

Write on buddy, keep your stories alive and let others learn from those mistakes!

Re: Writing a book...

I still read books when I have time...which is not much anymore.

If you want to have your book published, the first thing to do is contact a publisher. Send them your outline and they'll let you know if they want you to proceed. Most people think you have to have the book completed before you send it to a publish...that's not the case. Just thought this info would assist you if you choose to have your book published. Best of luck.

Re: Writing a book...

I sure do read books Gary. Most of my reading is during the summer though when it's too hot and humid around here to do much outside. Also I had some time during the last month too since it rained every weekend except this past weekend. Right now I'm gradually working toward finishing the book Quality Whitetails put out by QDMA.
