Jeramie
We usually rent movies from Movie Gallery. Recenly we rented 3-movies (The New Zorro, Must Love Dogs, and Family Man). We didnt get time to watch them so we keep them another 5-days. Finally we just returned them because we were way to busy to sit down to three movies. Yesterday we get a bill for $68 for lost movies. My wife called and they said the movies were never returned. We knew better. She argued with a woman half a day and said, "Ill pay for the movies but I want my movies back!" I was proud of her.... Finally the woman at the store called to say she had found one of the movies. She was looking for the other two and would call us back. I was heading home around 5:00 and my wife called to tell me what was going on. She hadnt heard from the girl so I called them. Turns out the girl fired up my wife telling her she was wrong and then left without looking for the rest! I talked to another girl that was very polite. She looked on the shelves and couldnt find the movies. They have countless copies of each one so that didnt suprise me. Anyway, she finally found Zoro and then asked what I had done with the other two?! I said, "If you found one dont you think I would have returned all three?" "Yeah but sir you have to drop them in the slot. People often come in and leave them on the counter and other customers pic up the movies and leave with them. You have to make sure they are dropped in the slot!" I said, "Ma'am, if someone was to pic up 2 dvd's why wouldnt they have took all three, let alone they took the two oldest movies and left the new release laying there!" "Good point! We just missplaced them, come on in and sign a few papers and we will take it off your account." I drove on home and my wife called about 5-minutes after I walked in the door. Turns out they found the movies. They were on the Shelf....... Braindead......
Newarcher
Re: Sharp as a tack I tell ya! You gotta watch Family Man.....I loved that movie. I am a big fan of Tea Leoni so I walk around singing 'you're a pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty girl' for a week after seeing it.......watch the movie and you will understand. But both Tea and Nicholas cage did a good job in this movie. New
slugshooter
Re: Sharp as a tack I tell ya! You gotta love it when people that work in stores tell you that you are wrong. It makes me want to jump over the counter and......well, you get the idea. Customer service has really taken a backseat nowadays, especially here in Fayetteville. More often than not I leave a store ticked off and irritated because the people that work there are rude and care nothing about the customer. Some of the Wal-Marts around here fit that description. muggs
Re: Sharp as a tack I tell ya! Movie Gallery did the samething to me. I returned a movie a four days late, no biggie right? About three months later I get a notice from a collection agency for $65. That figure included late fees and the charge for a "lost" movie. Apparently they let the late fees add up for well over a month before they turned it over to collections. I fought it hard but long story short, I had to pay it...I'll never go back. ksbowhntr77
Re: Sharp as a tack I tell ya! Better yet, I used to work for Tractor Supply Co. Their customer service was HORRIBLE. I saw more people that I couldn't help b/c I was with other customers leave ticked off. When they came back I helped them. It was nothing for me to have about three people or more following me around the store for help. Guess it helped that I was raised a country boy. The city slickers couldn't keep up. Bruce Schmeck
Re: Sharp as a tack I tell ya! Here's my guess. They were too lazy to actually look for them until you called.

wtnhunt
Re: Sharp as a tack I tell ya! [ QUOTE ] Baffles me why anyone would rent a movie these days. [/ QUOTE ] With ppv on satellite, we never rent anything from the movie rental places anymore. Order a movie, burn a dvd while watching it, then can watch it again whenever we want. archerjg
Re: Sharp as a tack I tell ya! Netflix is so much easier to deal with. I get three movies at a time and can keep them as long as I want before returning them. Archerjg
slugshooter
Re: Sharp as a tack I tell ya! I stopped dealing with Netflix when they couldn't honor their advertisements. I would send 3 movies back and get one, then another, then another. I started putting all 3 in the same envelope so I would get the next 3 when I was supposed to and that still didn't work. They have a nice way of making sure you don't really get to watch as many movies as you want for the monthly fee. In fact, they lost a class action suit last year for that very reason. Plus, I don't have time to watch many movies right now so there's no sense in paying for something I would hardly use.
