Guest guess Posted March 19, 2006 Report Share Posted March 19, 2006 rain ,rain ,rain ! we are finally getting rain here in North Texas and as most of you know the hogs get out and move when it rains! while I was editing video my wife was getting ready to go hunting in the pouring rain! We got a late start,she went one way and I went another I immediately saw 2 hogs in the open they were calm and had no clue I was there ,{must have been My new Desert Shadow camo from Kings Outdoor World} I called my wife on the cell phone and told her to get to me quick! she came over the hill and sat down in a puddle of water ! I told her to pick the one she wanted ,she told me the one to the far right! I counted down gave her first shot,then boom I shot mine ,they were about 100 yards out,I was aiming for the head ,but got shoulder .Mine dropped hers ran and there was a third one that had joined them. Of course it was leaving the country fast,I waited for what seemed like forever for her to shoot at it,but she never did,so I fired,it dropped I had hit it just behind the ear,surprised me,because the last thing I remember seeing was Hog Butt!! Boy was she mad! I'm thinking her gun must be off because she rarely misses and this makes 3 in a row for her! Got to be the gun ! I was using Remington 95.gr .243 Accu Tips ,this is the first time I've killed anything with them . the first hog weighed 199 pounds I hit it in she shoulder,it dropped like a ton of bricks,the tissue damage was Phenomenal! the second hog weighed 110 pounds I hit it just behind the ear the opposite side of the head was Jello! I never thought I would say this ,but the AccuTips worked every bit as good as my trusted ol'core lokts ! thanks for talking me into trying them Remington! excuse the spots it was still raining!
