Nut
Well I almost got a little damaged Friday. I was doing some things on the inside of a new machine at work. (Lock out was on and everything was supposed to be fine) Well I moved the 4x4 board between the table and the head and the head came down toward my leg which was on table. Well luckily I got my leg out of harms way and only strained my back which is fine today. It scared me a moment and now I am wondering of what some of your close calls have been? Well lets hear some

Tominator
Re: Close calls at work or school one of these days i'm sure some misguided adolescent will bring a gun to school--Thank God it hasn't happened yet. about the only dangerous thing about my work is the commute. i remember one day some lady wasn't paying attention to her lane and we missed each other by inches. both of us were doing at least 60 mph. i don't think i would've survived that head on. horst
Re: Close calls at work or school Oh boy where do I start. running a bundle of shingles up the shingle lift when the legs sunk into the ground.tried to adjust the legs and accidently hit the break. The shingles and platform came down and more or less took my thumb off, it was just hanging there by a piece of skin.It was reattached and dont work to bad but the topknuckle done bend no more. Unloading a bundle of steel perlons {SP?} off a flatbead semi truck in the winter. The truck had set out in an ice storm the night before and everything was froze down.I was trying to pry them loose with a big pry bar, they popped loose real fast and i sliped on the ice, went off the truck backwards and landed on top of my head, arms went totally numb and I couldnt move em for awhile, nothing was broke, just piched and about 3 weeks in a neck brace took care of that. Ladder went out from under me while I was installing gutters.Fell about 10 ft but just knocked the wind out of myself. My 4 ft level and a piece of gutter followed me down though and wacked me in the head, that hurt but it coulda been worse. Got a piece of steel in my eye once, scratched the eyeball and left scar tissue behind on it.Can still see out of it but I gotta really squint my eye up to focus it. Ive had many many stitches, dislocated fingers, been shot with a nail gun, to many close calls with falling off ladders or roofs to count, one time I had an abrasive blade on a cutoff saw blow up and turn into shrapnel, none of it hit me.I lead an exciting life come to think of it
