Just bought myself an electric weedeater. I like it because it's quiet. It doesn't weigh very much and it was CHEAP.

You guys use gas or electric???

I managed to weedeat all around my house today and my arms feel like they are about to fall off. grin.gif Then I fertilized the grass and turned the sprinkler on. We haven't had any real measurable rain in over a month. Grass looked horrible. crazy.gif

I like gas weedeaters, electric is ok but you have to have that stinking cord everywhere you go!

Yeah, I have a really long extension cord. And I only weedeat around the house and in the front yard. Can't do the whole property though, but that's okay. smirk.gif

I have a gas one, used to have an electric one, but it didn't have enough power, and not to mention lugging that darn extension cord around, switching plugs when you run out of room, and worry about cutting the cord. The electric one was nothing but a pain in the rump! We went out and bought a gas one, MUCH better. cool.gif

Tominator you pot licker...LOL ya beat me to it man!! But I do have a Husqavarna gas powered. Id rather go with roundup and be done for the summer!! I never could stand being covered with prickly weed and grass stems poking me. Using roundup makes mowing sooo much faster, I dont have to get that close to all the trees and shrubs

Re: Weed eater....gas or electric?

i own both a roybi electric and a stihl gas

the roybi is one that you charge up (no cord) and it is underpowered. it runs out of juice jsut doing half my yrad. ( but i do have 23 trees, a dish, a mail box, flower beds, and a big ditch to weed eat.

lets just say the stihl gets used alot more !

the advantages of the electric are that it starts eveytime you hit the button so you dont have to leave it running while walkting to the next place you want to trim.

it's light, and uses no gas.

I bought a rechargable Black&Decker last year.I dont have a lot to go around but it seems to have plenty of power, I dont have to wonder ifd its gonna start, and so far its never went dead. You just hang it back on the charger when your done and it shuts off automatically when its fully charged. No complaints so far but its only a year old.
