LeafWiper
I am looking into getting a tighter choke tube for my Remington 870, 12 gauge. Was looking at the Undertaker choke tube, anyone use it? Any recomendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
beagleboy
Re: Recomendations for choke tubes I don't use the undertaker, but I do use MAD calls turkey choke in my Rem and it gets a great grouping out to 40 yrds with Winchester Supreme #5s
Guest cowpoke
Re: Recomendations for choke tubes I put an undertaker in one of my 870 barrels and it does a very nice job.
Strut10
Re: Recomendations for choke tubes I tested an undertaker in an 870. It shot better than the factory turkey extra and turkey super full tubes. I ended up with a XXX-full Comp-N-Choke tube and am very impressed. I would recommend the XXX-full C-N-C to you.......unless you're shooting the 21" 870 turkey.......then I'd go to a C-N-C .655" tube. These suggestions are for #5 or #6 shot. huntinguide
Re: Recomendations for choke tubes i shot a undertaker out of my BPS with heavi-shot and it patterned awesome, now i shoot a tight wad out of my Benelli SBE with Win and it patterns the same. Both get my vote but its whatever works in that gun might have to try a few.
3seasons
Re: Recomendations for choke tubes Every gun shoots different so try as many different combos of chokes and shells as you can. I shoot an 870 with a 21" barrel I use a Preston Pittman Ported choke. Good Luck

Guest Colorado Bob
Re: Recomendations for choke tubes I would try your factory full----1st. That's what I use out of my 870. You maybe surprised on how it shoots. My shoots tite enough for kills out to 40 yards. this past weekend I missed judged the distance & still killed the bird. It was 51 paces. I know everone like those REALLY tite patterns---but you'll kill more birds at 15 yards than you will at 40. And at 15 yards those super tite chokes have a pattern about the size of a tennis ball. huntinguide
Re: Recomendations for choke tubes they sure do. i like a tight pattern and i got it with my tight wad. it has awesome down range patterns... imean 50+ i kills good...... but my 20 yard pattern looks like a golf ball..... its just something i know from patterning my gun and know that i have to be right on at 20. i have some of my 30 yards patts on a post called patterning results. mine are the 2nd group. wtnhunt
Re: Recomendations for choke tubes The factory winchester extra long extra full extended turkey choke tube on my 1300 with a 21 inch barrel performs good enough for me.
