Newarcher
They are back in Atlanta for the show this weekend and have been practicing over top of my building today. Once came over so low that my friend and I were waving at him from the 18th floor balcony and I swear he waved or saluted us as he came by on a slow, banking turn. He was definitely doing something with his hand....hey, maybe it was a 1 finger salute! I work in Marietta and have a clear view from the 18th floor all over their run area....coooooool. stevebeilgard
Re: Blue Angels baby there was no one finger salute from these guys... they are first class. it would be a wave, but most likely a full salute. quite a great show if you get to experience it. LifeNRA
Re: Blue Angels baby There very cool! I seen the Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, Snowbirds, Russian team(cant rember there name), and a few others. One was a russian bomber that had a real tight turning radious, un-believible! Also the Fat Albert from the Blue Angels was cool too! I love them 8 rockets that allow them to take off from a short runway!
HarvDog
Re: Blue Angels baby Those guys are awesome! I've seen them several times live including one of their first "practice" shows after they got the new F-18Hornets. Awesome baby! Semper Fi. Newarcher
Re: Blue Angels baby I will be back on the 18th floor again today to see them do their thing. Dobbins airforce base is only about 5 miles from here as the crow flies so I can see them doing all their low-level stuff. The coolest thing was when they came in at what looked like about 100 feet over the runways with their nose pointed up to what looked like 10-11 o'clock. They were moving linearly forward bowed up like a cobra with their smoke on. Even from here, it was COOL. They are classy guys and I imagine it was either a salute I saw or a wave...I was just kidding about the one finger salute. I would give my right leg to fly in one of those things on a ride along. I think two of the planes have a jumps seat for passengers and the rest are single seaters. Later in the day, all 6 practiced together and they came right over our building in their diamond pattern and I gotta tell you it was unbelieveable. They couldn't have been more than 100-200 feet above my head and since they approached from behind me, all the noise was directed right at me. LOUD Love those guys! wtnhunt
Re: Blue Angels baby Thats cool. Have not been to an airshow in a long time. Think the last airshow I went to was back in the early 80's, but did see the blue angels then.
