We are at war and the insurgents don't care about rules and regulations. That marine should not be punished, but rewarded for possibly saving many lives. That is my opinion. I support all of our troops and think that they are doing the best job that they can do, but they are unfortunately portrayed as monsters and invaders by the media when they are hero's for doing one of the toughest jobs in the World. [/ QUOTE ] I agree wholeheartedly! Since I'm not sure what rules of engagement these men are to follow I will not judge him. That being said, here are my thoughts: since said insurgent was not in custody or having surrendered he was still a threat and subject to being treated as such. If this means killing him to save other lives, so be it. He may have potentially saved the cameraman's and reporters lives as well. In my opinion, they have no business there on the front lines. This is rediculous and could wind up costing other troops their lives due to being hesitant in the future concerning themselves with whether they will be prosecuted for similar actions.
