Mack or Kenworth

Re: Mack or Kenworth

When driving local in Florida I drove the Mack CH600. Good tractor for short hauls with very few repairs...rough ride but tough tractor!

Drove OTR with a Company out of North Little Rock Arkansas and they had W900 Kenworth double sleepers....Sweet long haul tractor with plenty of room and enough horses to make the hills in Tennessee feel like bumps instead of mountains.

Of the 2 choices given:

Local hauls...Mack

Long OTR hauls...Kenworth

Re: Mack or Kenworth

A Mack truck especially pulling gravel trains here in Michigan just looks tough!!

If your not familiar with the term "trains" its (2) trailers together. In Michigan you can have up to 8 axles on the road! They carry some big loads around here.

Peterbilts are classy looking trucks and have alot of "show" in them as do Western Stars.

As for powerplants, Detroit Diesels, Caterpillars, and even Cummins have some nice choices. Any more fuel economy is the biggest thing when picking a truck and the powerplant in it.

BTW: If guys want to see a cool show, watch "Trick My Truck" on CMT. They do some cool things to trucks.....rolling show piece when they get done with them! Check that show out!!!
