markyj987
How many of you have seen deer and turkeys interact? The land I hunt is FULL of turkeys...they walk right past in the morning and in the evening. Of course, as it gets dark they all start to roost. Will a large concentration of turkeys affect deer movement or scare deer off? I would think not because deer are so adaptable, but don't really know. God knows about 4 or 5 turkeys startled the heck out of me last night...LOL I should've applied for a fall turkey license...had 8 turkeys walk right by me at 20-25 yards on Sunday. I was on the ground in blaze orange and they didn't even see me...it was amazing!
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Deer/Turkey interaction Usually the deer will cause the walking buzzards to move off a few yards, especially if they're both wanting to eat the same thing. Neither one will get very excited about having the other around.
Chrud
Re: Deer/Turkey interaction They seem not to both each other too much. If anything, the turkeys might move off a bit.
huntn4bucks
Re: Deer/Turkey interaction Definitely. I've seen as many as 24 turkeys gathered around a single deer. The turkeys didn't seem to mind it too much but the deer didn't like all the commotion.
