Guest BcHunter Posted May 8, 2006 Report Share Posted May 8, 2006 well i'm home, we got a 5'2 black bear Friday we released the hounds on a big blackie and ended up losing the bear and lost a few hounds in it all, we had to end up going home and looking for the 3 the next day morning.... ( from that chase some hounds came back roughed up, my hound had a few scratches to his face..one real nasty one above his nose from the bear.) Saturday we found two right away right where they were released, the other was in the same general area but showed up hours later. We then went to town and had late lunch and made our back later to look for more FRESH sign and the let the two rig hounds tell us when we were in the right spot..we did and released the hounds. It was so cool, the hounds lite up and we were collaring all the hounds we could and releasing the others...a short time later we had a bear in a tree..all nine hounds were around it baying their butts off to get him! a few hounds even were climbing the tree a short ways http://www.huntingfootage.com/data/538/MOV02839.MPG here is Cat Chaser tracking his hounds hounds tracks Cat Chasers hound Maverick climbing the tree to the bear having a chew! my hound Boone is with the white collar on the far right... Hounds got a chew and my buddy ended up with some sausage...all in all a great hunt. 2 more weeks with a bit of rain and they'll be out in full force..ans so will i!
