NiteRunner
Can anyone give me the run down of how the turkey hunting is in PA? Might cross the border line next year if I can swing it. Appreciate it! Laura
buckbuster11
Re: PA Hunting Normally it's pretty well worth it. For whatever reason this year seems to be pretty slow for a lot of people I have talked too. Actually this has been the worst year of turkey hunting I have ever experienced, but I am assuming it's just one of those weird years. I'd definately consider coming over, what part of the state were you thinking about hunting?
jbeck
Re: PA Hunting There is a lot of good bird hunting over here, I'll trade ya some gobblers for walleye. LOL
M00N
Re: PA Hunting If you have private land to hunt on the turkey hunting is good, or if you know public land that doesn't get heavily pressured, but around where I hunt in Northwest, PA every single year I see more turkey hunters on the public land hunting and it's getting very difficult to hunt turkey without another hunting just walking in on you or crossing your path in some way. It doesn't matter which week you go it seems you still will run into hunters and have to compete more with the hunters than the turkey to call a bird in. Stalking is illegal in our spring gobbler season, but as I found out this year that doesn't stop hunters from doing it and I lost a bird because of it. So, I suggest if you're coming to PA to hunt turkey to find private land.
