Matt Kemp

You baseball fans should keep an eye on this kid. The Dodgers called him up during the Braves series. First game, 3 strike outs.frown.gif Figured the kid would implode from then on. Then he goes 4 for his next 7. Then last night while playing the Phillies he hits his first home run. A 3 run shot that hits the left field foul pole.

He's gonna be a star. He won MVP in last years Arizona Fall League(where all the top minor leaguers go).

The Dodgers have 6 rookies that could be everyday players right now. Kemp, Andre Ethier, Wily Aybar, Takashi Saito, Russell Martin and Joel Guzman(called up last night). And Chad Billingsley will make his debut this month....hopefully.

If we don't win this year, at least our future looks bright.

And who are these Dodgers you speak of?

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh, that's easy. They're the team that is tops in the NL in Batting Average, Runs Scored, Stolen Bases and OBP.

Small Potatoes. The mighty Bucos have 6 of their 9 starters batting over .300 and the NL leader in batting average, Mr. Freddy Sanchez. Not to mention the Player of the Month award that will soon be awarded to Jason Bay. grin.gif

John, apparently the Rainman not only plays for the Dodgers, he also posts under Kev's screenname. Check out the autistic wit above. grin.gif

Yeah, John, you keep an eye on ole Sanchez. He was batting .315 4 days ago. My boy Nomar is .001 below him and he's been consistent.

[/ QUOTE ]

What are you trying to say Kev? Sanchez is a fluke? Nomar will have his groined torn or something before he even gets close. Does he even have enough at bats to qualify?

BTW--From Sept 1st of last year until now, Sanchez has the highest average of anyone in MLB. Look it up. grin.gif

that's what the SPORTS forum is for. grin.gif If it isn't completely random, it shouldn't be posted.

I think we should move those nascar threads somewhere else...you mods should create a tether ball/ nascar room...or maybe just make it all this that only go in a circle room. wink.giftongue.gif

Stop hijacking the thread Eric. We need to get back to talking about the Dodgers AA 3rd string catcher for goodness sakes. crazy.gif

What I'm saying is that Freddy has had a good last 5 or 6 games. Before that he was hitting .315. Now he's at .358.

Nomar is hitting .357. Right now, there's not a better hitter in the major leagues in the late innings. The boy has been going crazy in the late innings.

Let's compare them:

Freddy--.358 BA 13-2B 1-3B 4-HR 27-RBI's .391- OBP .521-Slug

Nomar---.357 BA 16-2B 1-3B 6-HR 36-RBI's .417-OBP .614-Slug

Nomar has some power and probably bats somewhere in the middle of the lineup, Freddy has just about 0 power and either bats 6th or 1st. Thats why some of Nomars numbers are higher.

Like I said the first time, this is not a 4 or 5 game fluke. He has the highest BA of anybody in the entire league since Sept. 1st of last year. Listen better next time. laugh.gif

Oh yeah, when you are doing your All Star voting you better be voting for him every time........and Bay. grin.gif

Re: Matt Kemp

Sanchez---career .298 hitter and yes I know he's young but in over 200 games he's hitting .298

Nomar--.321 career batting average.

Highest batting average since Sept. 1st?? Nomar's batting over .400 in the 6-9 innings and he's batting over .500 against left handers in the 6-9 innings. Does that matter?? NO!grin.gifgrin.gif
