buckbuster11
Re: Matt Kemp [ QUOTE ] Sanchez---career .298 hitter and yes I know he's young but in over 200 games he's hitting .298 Nomar--.321 career batting average. Highest batting average since Sept. 1st?? Nomar's batting over .400 in the 6-9 innings and he's batting over .500 against left handers in the 6-9 innings. Does that matter?? NO! [/ QUOTE ] Well I dont know where you find stats for the 6-9 innings but Sanchez is batting .474 against lefties this season which is a good 100 points higher then your boy Nomar. muggs
Re: Matt Kemp yeah John, but when the moon is 3/4 full-to full, and a low-pressure front is moving in from the coast, and its a night game, and a lefty who was born after June 1st, 1980 is on the mound...Nomar is 3 for 4 with one walk, and two RBI compete with that sir! MCH
Re: Matt Kemp Call me when your boy hits .372 with 21 homers in a season. How about a Tinks bet??? Check back in two months and see who's got the best batting average, Nomar or Freddy??? And yes it counts if he goes on the 60 day DL... BTW--.372 with 21 homers was about 5 years and 6 groin tears ago bud.

[/ QUOTE ] There you go making rules again! What are calling enough at bats to qualify. I know the official stats require, what, 150? Nomar's got 25 less than your boy right now. So in 2 months, lets say 300??

Gotta do this over the long haul. If you dont officially qualify to be in the batting title it dont count. Got it? Good.

buckbuster11
Re: Matt Kemp If he plays the rest of the season without hitting the DL it will be a miracle, let alone playing the whole season AND winning a batting title.

[/ QUOTE ] Let me put it this way, if he plays more than 2/3's of the remaining games....he WILL win the batting title. How many of today's players can boast that they hit .370 for a season???? Healthy. He's one of the best pure hitters in the game. Strong wrists and great bat speed.

MCH
Re: Matt Kemp John, just go take a look at Nomar's numbers. When he's healthy, he's awesome. When he's not...he struggles. He can hit 30+ homers and bat .320+. I give you that he's been injured a lot in the last few years, but that's not part of my argument. I'm saying that if healthy he can and will put up those types of numbers, again.
buckbuster11
Re: Matt Kemp And I'm saying that Sanchez will finish the year with a higher BA, and Bay will destroy him in every power number category. Hows that?

My grandpa was a Yankees fan and I rooted for the Dodgers just to bug him. They grew on me.
