Another post about bad "hunters".

I can't really call them hunters so I put it in quotations.

Story goes like this, farmer George lets a party of about 25 "hunters" park their campers, trucks and other stuff on his land. These people proceed to cut a big hole in his fence and go over onto farmer Martins' land and try to kill everything that resembles a deer. Farmer Gary on the next property starts looking into this because he doesn't know if these people have permission to be on Martins land. Farmer Martin did not give them permission to be on his land and when he investigates finds these people shot one of his cattle between the eyes, butchered it on the spot and left the carcass lay. Farmer Martin asks farmer Gary if he or his family ever hunt on his land. Farmer Gary says, "nope, we never had permission even though we thought about asking since we are neighbors". Farmer Martin says, Hunt my land when you want, kill all the deer you can legally and please help keep people like that off my land." Gary and his family now have twice as much hunting land and Martin gets helped out too.

This happened this deer season. We are good friends with Gary and family and my dad knows all three farmers personally.

Re: Another post about bad \"hunters\".

It's a real shame that there are so many "SLOB" hunters out there, who have total disregard for other peoples property and the sport of hunting in general.

I'm really glad to hear that your neighborly friendship won out in the end, even after all the bad things that happened. Thing like this leave a bad taste in all land-owners mouths towards hunters in general.

Re: Another post about bad \"hunters\".

I ran into a land owner who lost a quarter horse one time during an elk season. She won't let anyone hunt her land anymore.

Did George inform Martin as to who it might have been? I figure the slobs that did this owe him the cost of that beef at the very least. mad.gif
