I'm sure he thought it was cute and wanted to see if it would come to him. I heard that he has seen the fawn back with its mom since he released it. Only time ever I touched a fawn was when I barely ran the one over partially with the front tire of my tractor. The wife and kids still like to think that little guy made it.
