Just had to take the family and get away for the week to Apalacacola Florida....actually, Cape San Blas which is a little island just SE of Apalachacola. So whadda you know? We have a small hurricane bearing down on us that is forecasted -- for the moment -- to hit just due east of us. I think we will be okay but if there is a shift to the left at all, we will probably have to leave. Right now, the winds are at about 20-30 MPH and the seas are crazy big for the gulf. The water is booming like the Pacific and the water is the color of chocolate milk! Fortunately, we have a NICE veranda with a bunch of chairs to sit in. No doubt, we are watching the show! All in all it was a disappointment....I am beginning to think these Flordia people with their hurricanes are a bunch of pansies! In Ga, I have had thunderstorms that were significantly worse than what we got here. Mainly light rain and a little wind. More than anything, just churned up seas and larger than normal waves. I figured that if we were going to have something, I would at least like to see a LITTLE something. All in all, I am glad we didn't get a direct hit. The cool thing is that we did get to see the changing of the winds. They were blowing one way yesterday and the opposite today. So all the things we lost yesterday came back today! It's all good.
