ODH
Well, I went out and bought a new Stevens m200 chambered in .270Win today. I haven't had a chance to sight it in yet, but I am really looking forward to using it this fall out at my great uncle's property in Pennsylvania. I don't have any pics of it yet though. It is equipped with a 3x12x50 BSA scope, and they threw in a free gun case for it too, which was nice. Also, Tominator, I bought this gun in Shelby, Ohio, which isn't too far from where you live I think. -Jon
wtnhunt
Re: New deer rifle Congrats on the new gun. Not real familiar with the stevens rifles, but I really like my .270.
Tominator
Re: New deer rifle If I ever do get a rifle, the .270 will be in contention to be the one. Probably one of the best all-around calibers there is. Shelby is actually about 2 hours away from me, at least. I don't get up to that end of the state too much anymore since my in-laws moved to South Carolina. I live in Licking county, just northeast of Columbus. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: New deer rifle That's probably a good choice. The NRA's American Hunter Magazine chose it as their rifle of the year.

rifleman25
Re: New deer rifle Thats the same rifle I donated to Dakota for his bennefit. They are nice guns built by savage and are a much better economy line that the remington 710 IMHO
Dakota
Re: New deer rifle They are good rifles. I have the exact same thing also chambered in the late Jack O'connor's favorite. Tomorrow I'm going to get a recoil pad and barrel deresonator so that I don't blow my shoulder out of it's socket! Good luck shooting, we'll have to compare hunting seasons next spring!
