New deer rifle

Well, I went out and bought a new Stevens m200 chambered in .270Win today. I haven't had a chance to sight it in yet, but I am really looking forward to using it this fall out at my great uncle's property in Pennsylvania. I don't have any pics of it yet though. It is equipped with a 3x12x50 BSA scope, and they threw in a free gun case for it too, which was nice.

Also, Tominator, I bought this gun in Shelby, Ohio, which isn't too far from where you live I think.

Re: New deer rifle

If I ever do get a rifle, the .270 will be in contention to be the one. Probably one of the best all-around calibers there is.

Shelby is actually about 2 hours away from me, at least. I don't get up to that end of the state too much anymore since my in-laws moved to South Carolina.

I live in Licking county, just northeast of Columbus.

Re: New deer rifle

They are good rifles. I have the exact same thing also chambered in the late Jack O'connor's favorite. Tomorrow I'm going to get a recoil pad and barrel deresonator so that I don't blow my shoulder out of it's socket! laugh.gif Good luck shooting, we'll have to compare hunting seasons next spring!
