Re: HEY OKIES

Here is a web sight to the officersof the Bowhunting Council of Oklahoma. http://www.bowhuntingcouncilok.com/officers.htm

Bear in mind that many of these guys may be die hard traditional shooters, and may not want the wording changed. If you decide to email them, I would include some of the tests that 5shot has done. His website is www.broadheadtests.com

Re: HEY OKIES

I have one question for you guys!!!! Have you ever run into a DEC or DOW officer in the woods and have him ask to look at your broadheads? I doupt it.

Second question, Are you sure there not talking about the cutting diameter not braodhead length?

I wouldn't worry to much about it!!!!

rossman, please refer to post #3

The length is of the ACTUAL BLADE LENGTH. That being from tip to where the threads START. I have talked to two Game Wardens and the have told me as much.

If and when I get a ticket, how about I send it to you, and you can pay it for me, how's that sound? Why not just go ahead and get it changed now before it DOES become an issue. There are ALOT of good heads out there that are more than good enough to do the job that are illegal here, and MOST ETHICAL hunters don't want to use them because they ARE illegal

Re: HEY OKIES

I hear you and do agree. If it is the law, then it's the law. we should all abide by them.

I guess my point is, not many hunters know the details when it comes to state hunting laws and I bet most of the archery hunters in your state and mine do not know all of the laws.

You are right though, why not get it changes before it does become a problem. I would sure hate to kill a deer and get it taken away because my broadheads did not conform to the state laws!!!

If you do know the laws why not abide by them, if we don't then we are just a bunch of outlaws and that's not a good way to hunt!!!!

Re: HEY OKIES

Well, I haven't TOTALLY given up hope yet. I am gathering information from BROADHEADTESTS.com, and I am going to email the second and 3rd Presidents of the bowhunting council with that information also, and see what happens from there. May I suggest that a couple of ya'll email the Wildlife Department with some of that same information? I will give ya'll what I have when I get it all gathered up.

Re: HEY OKIES *****UPDATE*****

I just sent an email and have gotten a reply back from the 1st Vice President of the Bowhunting Council of Oklahoma, and he thought this was already changed as of last year. He is now going to look into this. WOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
