Tony Posted November 27, 2004 Report Share Posted November 27, 2004 yep as some of you are wondering wher the heck i have been .. well i have been hunting more this year than ever . tonight i shot a doe at " 31 yards " . yep no lie 31 yards.. you would be amazed at how many things i used the range finder on and it is 31 yds.. just hung this stand on a well worn trail between 2 cedar thickets and had a small 8 point go by last night but passed on him.. tonight this doe made the mistake of giving me a chance and i made a tough quartering away shot . she only went 40 yds and piled up.... [image] [/image] oh yea i believe this is the doe that i missed last sunday night from a stand not 75 yds away from where i shot her tonight.... [image] [/image] first off thats not a gut pile in the truck.. i was trying to be neat at a buddies house and picked up some excess fat from my doe when we washed her out... i know the pic is a little tacky but i was excited and we were going to hang her in a couple of mins...so i wanted a pic for the deer contest and it just so happened to be a back of the truck photo.. as for the 31 yard pin thing i guess i have to explain for some of the guys... i few years a go i went on a hog hutn with a bunch of realtree members... when i was asked what my pin setting were i said 20 , 31 and 40... they commented on the fact that you sure its 31 and not 30 ? i said yes it was dead on at 31 not 30... so i got kind of ragged about my 31 yd pin... they made me change my name i was signing on with also.. but with the new bow the 31 yd pin went away... bt now i have to laugh everytime i use my range finder and get 31 yds... i got her cut up today and off to the locker to get grinded into burger... the tenderloins are tucked away in freezer bags and the " belly fish " are in salt water for tomorrow lunch.... thanks for the kind words guys it means a lot ..
