Any lower than that and your scent and movement have a much greater chance of detection. Some situations require lower stand heights but you have to be extremely cautious of the wind, thermal currents, your front and back cover, and movements. One time i hunted over 30 feet high, and when a doe came by that i wanted to shoot, i was too afraid to even stand up to draw. So i said "man im glad it wasnt a monster buck."
