BowtechsWife Posted July 6, 2006 Report Share Posted July 6, 2006 A Co-Workers nephew (17 yrs old) has underwent a heart transplant this morning. Paul got the call at 2 a.m. - he and his mother was taken to Omaha's children's hospital. The new heart was in place at 10:30 this morning. At 11 they estimated it would be 2 hours before they could close the chest cavity. They last update came a little while ago and he was on the heart & lung machine again. He had a slow start yesterday, but things started improving nicely yesterday evening. His biggest risk right now is rejection, so he will continue to be monitored closely.
