SuperMn106
How are the mosquitos in your area? It seems like it is the worst it has ever been here. I wish there was something we could do about them. They are just so annoying. I can not wait for winter to get here.

Newarcher
Re: Mosquitos? Ours have been the best I have ever seen. It was so dry that I have only been bit a handful of times....until it rained a lot in the past week. Then I got nailed last night. One more reason to love winter! Jeramie
Re: Mosquitos? They arent bad here. We are in a serious drought so there isnt much standing water for them to lay little wigglers.

Had deer flies attacking me last night while I was spraying in the garden, man I hate them.
Guest Andrea
Re: Mosquitos? Haven't been too bad. I always get bitten so I keep the bug spray handy anyway. I have a feeling that the population is about to explode with all our recent rains.
Newarcher
Re: Mosquitos? I don't know how you folks do it, hunting girl. We vacationed in Cape San Blas two years ago and the condo had a dune between it and the beach. Of course, it was three days after the hurricane (this year we go a tropical storm while there....pattern here?). The mosquitos were so large and big and aggressive that we lathered up in OFF and they still were hitting us. Not the little ones that hover and wait for you to be still...no, these were Kamakazi skeeters. Literally, they would just fly into you and it was terrible. From the car to the door of the condo I would say I got bit 25 times. They were so big that you could feel them impact your legs, face, scalp, etc....kind of like getting hit with a light rain. This year, they installed a spray system that kept them down to zero....I don't think that I got bit at all. I was told that mosquitos are territorial so if you spray your yard for them, others generally won't fly in to bite you. Didn't know that. spyderpancake
Re: Mosquitos? They actually haven't been that bad at my house, but the deer flys are really bad at the hunting club, and my brother has some MONSTER mosquitos at his house. They are huge, i have heard that they blew in from the tropics with a hurricane last year, they are like triple normal size, and have beaks the size of stick pins! Shaun_300
Re: Mosquitos? They get fairly bad between 9 and 10pm, but not as bad as I've seen before. Once you go into the bush the deer flies are crazy though!

rifleman25
Re: Mosquitos? none to speak of in SD right now either. I have been spending some time near Galveston and Sabine Pass Texas and the skeeters have been real bad down there. I have come to rely on my thermacell for relief while filling up with gas.
