huntaholic Posted August 8, 2006 Report Share Posted August 8, 2006 These pics are off of public land near my house. But first a little info on the piece of land. I know people who have hunted it in past years and would see deer every night. But since 2000 the deer population in my county has been going to ****. I hunted it several times and never saw a deer. A friend of mine hunted it last year at least once a week and didnt see a single deer and only two tracks. I got a trail cam and set it out there to see what was going on. The first week all there was were does but this week I got some pics of nice bucks. They may not be what most people think of as big for Iowa, but in my part of the state they are. I had it out for three days and got 30pics. All I can say is I know where I hunting this year. Sorry for the long story but here are the pics. P.S. The A.M and P.M. on the pics are switched around. An 8pt, may be growing a 9th pt long brows 8 or 9 with big boy in the background one in back looks like he is out of velvet 9pt, maybe the same as above? 9pt who didnt like the camera, smaller antler on left, injury from last year? I think you have to follow through with what you mentioned in a another post.....get rid of that old stand and put your good one in there......what a great location.....and nice bucks to boot.
