I hate joint pain.....

I started back to the Gym Monday and I knew I would be sore. However, Tuesday I felt like I got hit by a bus. My daughter had been sick and I guess Daddy picked it up.

I typically dont get sick (usually about once every 2-3 years) so I guess I was due. I was running fever Tuesday and Wednesday and coughing, hurting, etc. I worked anyway.

All of that has moved on but now my back, knees, shoulders, elbows, etc. are about to kill me. I dont feel bad but I hurt like an 80 year old in high pressure. I hate this. I think I rather be popped in the lip then have to sit here in this discomfort.

Tylenol helps a little but I really need a hot shower. Ill probably take off about 3:30 so I can get to the house and do that...

Re: I hate joint pain.....

I was telling someone the other day that until I started running and working out again, I didn't have any aches and pains. When I first started running again 4 weeks ago, every muscle in my legs were sore for 3 days, then when I hit the weights again, the rest of me ached. I'm 29, soon to be 30, and I feel like I have the knees of an 80 year old. Most of the other aches and pains are temporary, like the day after I work out, some minor strain but I have gotten to like it. I think the pain from my knees is due to the fact that I am not wearing the right running shoes, according to the wife of an excercise science prof at work, that and because even though I have lost about 40 pounds, I'm still toting about 230, and when I come down when running, that triples and it's coming down on my knees and ankles.

Don't let the aches and pains stop you, it gets easier, heck, when I started up and was struggling through running a half mile, now I'm doing a mile fairly easy, I'm building myself up week by week. I finally, just for once, want to have a builtup cut physique once in my life, before I'm too old to get it. The upside is, I don't feel like I am getting ready to turn thirty, I feel better and younger, I eat a lot healthier too.
