buckmastermn
Has anybody shot these bullets? How was accuracy and how was expansion when it hit a deer? Thanks
too_pointer
Re: Powerbelt AeroTip bullets I have used them for 4 years and they shoot great out of my Encore. I am using the 295 grn. Expansion was great in the bullets I have found. They aren't for everybody and their muzzleblasters. You need to try them out and see if your gun likes them too_
livnreklis
Re: Powerbelt AeroTip bullets I have shot the 245grn aero tips, and they grouped well for me at 50yds. But I have read alot on the net that either your rifle liked em or dont. Only thing I did not like was they went down the barrel way to easy, which has me thinking the best possible gas seal is not being made when firing, and I think that might be the issue many are having with accuracy. But they worked well in my rifle But I am going to stick with the TC shockwaves they seem to group well in just about every M L out there, so I like those stats better. Guest andymansavage
Re: Powerbelt AeroTip bullets The bullet itself also expands to engage the rifling and seal the gasses, making it a very accurate projectile. The only complaints that I have heard are with terminal performance on bigger deer and elk. Of course , every bullet will work if put behind the shoulder on a broadside presentation. The true test us when the shot is not perfect and the bullet has to pass through bone or muscle to do its job. I have no complaints with the sst , but if I ever do I will try the aerotips for sure. [/ QUOTE ] Powerbelt bullets came out with a new bullet this year for that reason Big powerbelts Or you can shoot the .348 grain bullets like I do. Really puts the smackdown on the deer. I started shooting the Powerbelt hollowpoints because I could not find the aerotips in my local stores. You will really enjoy powerbelts no matter which one you choose. Guest andymansavage
Re: Powerbelt AeroTip bullets Clay , what caliber do you shoot ? I want to try the 348 GR aerotip in my .54 knight. Should poke a big hole. The only negative about my current setup us that I am shooting a .45 Cal bullet with a thick sabot in the 300 gr sst. I would love to replace that plastic with bullet. Have you shot the new ones ? Andy
