Re: scent control

There is not much in this world that is scent free. But that is subjective as compared to the organism we are talking about.

Scent free to you and me is not scent free to the whitetail so be careful believing....

Sure you need to get below a certain PPM at a given range but the best thing to do is to smell like the area you are going to hunt.

I certainly don't want to smell like a cedar forest in the sage of Texas nor ponderosa pine in the northeast.

If you hunt a farm, leave you clothing outside.

Just wash in a scent free soap or wash in a regular soap possibly the night before and then re-shower in just hot water the following morning. I do use "unscented" antiperspirant and use it liberally. A spray works in your crack if you need it. LOL

In areas where apple trees are present I use an apple scented shampoo.

Pack you clothes in a bag with the local flora at least the night before.

Hope this helps, it's worked for me for the past 20+ years anywhere I have hunted.

Re: scent control

yup...i think everyone covered it....one other thing i found works...i hunted in a ground blind last year...and while i was putting it up i was kicking the leaves and stuff around and got that fresh earth scent kicked up..REALLY strong....so every time i went out there the first thing i did when i got in the blind was scrape the dirt in and around the blind to get that smell kicked up....seemed to work:)
