257bob
I am considering trading my 2004 Ford Ranger in for a small SUV. We have a baby on the way in March and I need a vehicle that I can put a baby seat in easily. I am considering the Jeep Liberty. I was wondering if anyone here had one or knew gas mileage, reliabiliy, etc. I am also open to other suggestions. I am looking for something with decent gas mileage (17mpg or more.) I am going to be using it to hunt out of and need a solid vehicle, but I also need a family car. Please help, I hate buying vehicles. I am looking to get something used 2000-2003. Steven
Re: Vehicle info? NS Whitetail has or had a Liberty. I have a Grand Cherokee which gets close to 19 MPG with the V8. I love it. I've tried to get it stuck and have determined its just impossible.
BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: Vehicle info? Great vehicles just have a really small interior meaning drviers cockpit .. but if size isn't a concideration then yeah they are a great vehicle ... TexasDeerHunter
Re: Vehicle info? Bought my wife a GMC Yukon 4wd. It handles like a car and gets 19.5mpg highway and about 16-17mpg in town.
hunterfisherman
Re: Vehicle info? I have a newer Trailblazer and it is great. Lots of room on the inside for my son and powerful enough to tow a nice size boat. I get about 18 miles to the gallon

Shaun_300
Re: Vehicle info? Since I'm a GM man, I'll reccomend the Trailblazer, Envoy or Buick Rainier. Stay away from the Rendevouz, They have the 3.4L in them, which means intake and head gaskets go on them.
Jeramie
Re: Vehicle info? Take a hard look at the Nissan Xterra. We bought a new one in 2001 and traded it in 2005 for a Nissan Quest. We actually did so because of our newborn but I don’t think you’re going to find a “Roomy” compact to midsized SUV. I know the jeep doesn’t have any more room. The Nissan is a really tough truck and would make an awesome hunting vehicle. They have a 5000lb towing capacity, are low geared, etc. They are however in your requested gas mileage. They have tons of ground clearance. We would not have sold it had my wife not wanted a van in a bad way. She loved her Xterra. Her boss is in the Army. He was sent to Africa a couple of years ago. When he got back he told her (my wife) that they drove two vehicles down there, Land Rovers and Xterras. All and all I’m not saying don’t buy any other brand, just take a look at the Nissan before you throw out some hard earned cash.
