smo
My hunting bow just blew up and I am considering a crossbow. Just wondering what would be a good crossbow. I would like one that is quiet. I've heard that many of the bows are really loud. Just wondering what is the best bang for the buck.

too_pointer
Re: What is a good crossbow? I've had a TenPoint for 5-6 years and although its very accurate, it is also very noisy ! If I ever buy another one I'm sure it will be an Excalibur. They are like a recurve, no cams, alot quieter, and very accurate, and in most case are better priced than the other brands. too_
LifeNRA
Re: What is a good crossbow? My father and I shot the Ten Point, Excalibur Exocet, Horton, and a Parker. The Parker Safari Magnum won hands down for being the quietest, best price for a complete package, and easier for my father to draw back. Yeah the Ten Point was awesome, but $1300 for a crossbow! No way! The Horton, sorry cant remember the price, $500 I think. The Excalibur Exocet was $600 and only came with a peep sight and bow! Thats it! The Parker Safari Magnum had everything to start hunting right away! Three dot red dot sight, bolts, quiver, sims vibration, and a free rope to set it. All for $600! That was the selling point for my father. It has a 150 draw weight, which is smaller than the 200 pound draw weight of the Excalibur. But the Parker's FPS was higher than the Excalibur. Just shoot as many as you can, and get the one you like!
