Jeramie
Ive had Dial up at the house for a coons age. We are now thinking of upgrading to 250 DSL. Our local carrier only had 500mbs for years. They charged $85 month for that with a 2-year contract..... After a while they finally split the cost and are now offering 250 for $35 a month. They also have 500 for $59. There is no way im throwing out $60 a month for internet but im already paying $20 for dial up so I can choke down the extra $15. My question is how fast is 250mbps? At one job I was running a partial T1 on a 10/100 network. I assume the DSL will patch into the 10/100 card on my Laptop?!?! So will it be roughly the same speed? Is it stable? Etc..... Basically this is my only shot at high speed at the house. We honestly dont have any other options other then Satellite and its way more costly and down when it rains.... Anyway, input appreciated... BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: Mid-Speed DSL (250) ?????? 250 is going to scream compared to dial up ... your DSL will hook into your 10/100 card no problem ... I never have any trouble with my DSL in fact I have had it where the phione didn't work but my internet did ... as far asyour partial t1 at work depends on how partial as to the speed variation ... but if it were my only options I would be all over it ... I hate dialup.. Steve
hunterfisherman
Re: Mid-Speed DSL (250) ?????? 250 will smoke the dial up but shouldn't be as fast as your T1. That price is a little high though. I pay that for broadband which is around 2000mbs. If it's the only option then it will still be a huge upgrade from dial up
Buckslayer
Re: Mid-Speed DSL (250) ?????? I have it and it does scream compared to dial-up. Not quite as fast as T1 at work, but almost.
wtnhunt
Re: Mid-Speed DSL (250) ?????? Sure wish they would make it available out here. Dial up is the only option we have until bellsouth upgrades, which may be never.
