i'm going out with a white ultramag topped with a 3-9 bushnell using 85 grains of T-7 with a .451 300 grain hornandy sst. shooting inch size groups at 100 yrds and 3 inch groups at 200. I feel like its going to be a great season to blow some smoke and drop some deer.

so what are the rest of you using?

Re: whos using there smokepoles this year for sea

I'm going to chase Muleys and Whitetails around the Oklahoma panhandle this year with my TC Omega topped with the Nikon Omega 3-9x40. I can't wait. I hope we can stumble across a big boy this year. I leave Michigan Nov. 1st for OK.

First year doing this and I have a CVA Kodiak Pro 209 Magnum with Realtree stock and barrel. Also, matching Nikon Pro Staff 3-9x40 in Realtree camo scope. When I site in next week, I will be trying out Pyrodex and 777 pellets. I also have Barnes MZ Boat tail Sabots and Powerbelts to compare. Could you give your opininion on my PowerBelts -vs- Sabots thread?

I'm using a T/C Fire Hawk .50 T-7 300 gr Shockwave. This will be my second year hunting. I'm having trouble sighting in my open sights. I've tried everything I can think of, but the best I can get is 2-3" left and 1" low. I would like for it to be 1/4" high center at 100 yrds. So I am going to put a BSA 3-9x40 on it and have it boresighted at 1" high center. If there is anyone that can help me with the open sight problem, the help would be most appreciated.

Well, I'm not sure which I'll use, but my choices are

White S91 .504

White Lightning .504

TC Encore .50

TC Omega .50

Probably use the Lightning or the Encore as they are the most accurate so far.

I go every year late season with a flintlock after whitetails, save my doe tag for it. Lyman great plains rifle with iron sights. Sometimes I wonder why I don't bring my bow, at least I know it will go off every time!
