MrWiggely
Hey guys, this is going to sound stupid to some of you, but here goes. I have a Hi 8 cam corder, and for the life of me, I can not figure out how to get the video put on VHS or DVD. What the heck do I have to do? Or put it on my computer, I know how to make a DVD with this thing. Thanks, and stop laughing. Wigs

snapper
Re: A Stupid Question My video cam (HI8)...I plug the camera in the tv or VCR depending on how you have it hooked up using the red/white/yellow RCA jacks. Put camera in VCR mode and play...mean while on the VCR...blank tape in and recording. If you can watch your video on t.v. through your camera...you should be able to record with a vcr while watching it.
BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: A Stupid Question Use the Red White Yellow cable that came with your camera ... it might have an adapter to hook inot your camera ... hook it into the video in on the back of the VCR selcet the correct input on your VCR ... usually video 1 or Line one ... turn on your tv if you are seeing what is on your camera on the TV you have it hooked up correctly ... start playing on the Camera and hit record on the VCR ... with a tape in of course ... and you should be recording .... if you have any other questions you can PM me and will be happy to help ... You can take this one step further if you have a video capture card in your computer... If you do you can download the video onto your computer and using a software suite convert the video to Digital and make a VCD or a DVD...... If you have a cable that has s-video outputs for the camera and a super video input on your vcr, it would give a bit better quality recording over the rca type patch cord.
