What is a good 3 season tent that can be erected by one person? But big enough to accomodate a few hunters and some gear. Possibly a 2 cabin tent or one with a heater for late season hunting. Guest Colorado Bob Posted September 4, 2006 Report Share Posted September 4, 2006 Re: New Tent Hey, come on up next year for some elk hunting & you can see 1st hand on how a 12x14x5 Denver canvas wall tent goes up. 0ne guy can do it---but it goes a bunch better with 2. The tent weighs @ 70 lbs, then add in the frame you have to assemble. Best time to by a wall tent is right after the 1st of the year----they have clearance sales then. I got poles with mine but lodge poles or conduit will work fine and save you a few buckis. We have slept 5 big people in it and it got down to -10 degrees! I have the big vestible and we put a radiant heater in the vestible and never had any problem keeping warm! I am probably going to lean towards the dome style as they seem to be a lot easier to erect compared to the canvas wall tents. But, who knows what I may wind up with.
