The Refs Are At It Again......

Looks like the refs and the NFL are once again determined to do whatever it takes to get "Poopy Lip" Peyton and the Colts to the Super Bowl.

Didn't know a DB not being able to stand on his own two feet was reason to call offensive pass interference shocked.gif

Let's keep an official count of how many cheesy calls they get for them this year, and how many go against them.

Kinda like the refs missed Miller stepping out of bounds before he got to the endzone the other night?

I was actually thinking it was more like the Troy P. interception call last year in the playoffs against the Colts, and for that matter, all the calls in that game last year where the refs tried to win it for them lol.

I'll be the first to admit that Miller went out of bounds and the ref didn't notice. Had Sabin not been a nitwit the ball would have and should have been on the 3 or 2 yard line. That being said, take 7 points off the final score and the Steelers still win. Take away that CHEEEEE-ZEEEEE pass interference call against the Giants, and odds are they score on that drive, be it a TD or a field goal to take the lead.

Re: The Refs Are At It Again......

It looked like a bad call, but at full speed it probably did look like he pushed off harder then he did. Funny thing is i remember a similar play being called last year in the Superbowl that actually took 6 points away from a team shocked.gif

Still, Giants should have won this game. They missed a FG, they fumbled a handoff, they had a ton of false start penalties. They had Manning on the run almost all night. They should have won the game without the refs. They didnt execute enough. Colts still have a lot of work to do on that offensive line. They looked pathetic yet again.

If I remember that call last year correctly, there was DEFINITE contact that IMPEDED the defenders ability to make a play on the ball. I seem to remember Chris Hope being on "D-Jack" like white on rice, then next thing you know there's contact and he's 5 yards away. Hmmmmmmm.

You're right, the Giants definitely still had chances to win the game, I won't and can't argue that, I'm just sick and tired of seeing the refs CONSTANTLY put opposing teams behind the 8 ball, regardless of whether or not the team still has other chances to win the game. As for their O-Line, you're right about that. They went from one of the best in the game to looking like rookies, and I'm not sure what happened.

Re: The Refs Are At It Again......

The O line went into the tank the second half versus Jacksonville in December last year and never got it right again. I never thought they were a great line to begin with, i think Mannings ability to read a blitz and his quick delivery help him avoid many sacks. The numbers always look good for the O line but it's misleading. Tonight they only allowed one sack, but Manning converted about 11 3rd downs and several of those were on the run where he was pushed from the pocket almost immediately. They also did nothing in run blocking.

The Giants look like a solid team though. Good line play and a great back in Barber. They should have a good season.

I never thought of it that way before, and that definitely makes sense now that I think about it. You might be on to something lol grin.gif

Re: The Refs Are At It Again......

If you wanted to see some truely horrid calls you should have watched the Bills- N.E. game.... smirk.gifsmirk.gif

Buffalo was really taking it to the Patriots and here we go out of NO where all kinds of phantom hitting from behind calls against the Bills just so N.E. wouldn't lose their game at home.... mad.gifmad.gifmad.gif

Think Im joking just go and look at the stats for the second half of that game and look at the penalties each team received.....I think you'll something quite one sided and I really don't think the NFL cares.... smirk.gifsmirk.gif

Kind of like the call when Donte Whitner intercepted the ball and took it back for a TD, they blew the whistle and said he stepped out of bounds??????? Then decided to call a penalty too. I watched it over and over, no penalty, and he was 3 ft from being out of bounds the whole time.
