VTbowman
I worte G5 last evening asking the saem things I have posted here lately about the possible opening of the Tekan blade during the shot. This is the email I got today: "Hi Shawn, I am glad you are enjoying the performance of the Tekan I head. It has been proven for well over 4 years now that the Tekan's perform awesome in the field and do exactly as stated. Their penetration, durability, accuracy and re-sharpenability is unmatched. Would it be possible to make your own clip with a home video camera? I can send a copy of our Instructional DVD to you. I am pretty sure it is protected and cannot be accessed. This has a durability and blade retention test using a hooter shooter and the Tekan II. The Tekan I and now the Tekan II, which replaced the Tekan I does stay shut in flight as long as it is properly setup. Even though it takes only a mere 3 pounds of kinetic energy to deploy the blades upon contact, the blades do remain in their closed position during flight. We have tested the Tekan I and Tekan II's on crossbows shooting well over 360 fps without any instances of early deployment of the blades. We have shot them from compounds shooting well over 300 fps and models also known for their high amount of shock. Even bows that have a huge amount of shock, will not deploy the blades early. If someone says their blades deployed early or not at all indicates they may have set it up incorrectly. It is nice to hear you are taking the time to study the head and learn how it works plus spread the word on it's performance and efficiency. I wish there was more I could do for you or something I could give to prove that point. Thanks. Deborah Luttman G5 Outdoors, L.L.C." I must say I am content with the reply and confident my broad heads are flying closed and opening up on paper.
ThethirdI
Re: Response from G5 about Tekans.... It's really nice to know that someone gets and actually reads the e-mails that are sent to them. Good customer service is so hard to find sometimes. I would be satisfied with that reply as well. Thanks for posting and letting folks know.
