VermontHunter
I would like to take the oppurtunity to thank VTbowman once again for saving my hunting season here in Vermont and choose the lounge area to do this because it seems to have to most traffic. My sercomstances, were that after vandels pretty much destoryed any chance of getting any deer on or around my food plots do to the use of bleach. After hearing this Vtbowan (Shawn) who lives fairly close to me invited me to hunt his property not only for rifle season but ML season as well. Take in mind he didn't know me from adam but extented his generosity to me anyhow. I think we now have created the start of a great and growing friendship. So again Shawn thanks for your hosipality and frienship my season would have ended before it ever began. Note I did harvest a doe in my first ever ML hunt and this is to Shawn for caring enough for a fellow hunter to share what he has and not being greedy...THANK-YOU !!!!! puffy
Re: An Extented Thankyou !!!! That sure was nice of Shawn to extend an invitation to hunt. I'm pleased to hear there are people with some genuine heart out there. My hat is off to you Shawn! Sorry to hear about your plots being bleached. VermontHunter
Re: An Extented Thankyou !!!! J.B. Living not too far from Shawn and chatting with him on the forums, I'm sure at one point or another we would have met up and yes I'm sure a freindship would have developed even if I wasn't able to hunt on his property. Bleach of all things to be used, this was very unusual and was told it wouldn't have taken all that much of it to do it's job, to it's constant odor and it's properties of adhesion, this makes clean-up hard or even not possible for the season once deer have encountered it. Take hunting out of the picture yes we would have become friends that's just the type of personality and nature Shawn has.
Steven
Re: An Extented Thankyou !!!! I have heard so many stories like this over my 4+ years on this forum and that's what makes the tree stand apart from any other forum I've ever witnessed. Things are different here. People are just genuine. Not the least of which is Shawn.
VTbowman
Re: An Extented Thankyou !!!! Oh now you done got me to blush.... Luke You are most welcome and your right I would of eventually gotten together with you to start a friendship one way or the other. Us living so close to each other and all... You immediately impressed me with your drive for hunting, deer management, and the respect so many guy do not display towards land owners. It was my pleasure to have you out there and I am overjoyed you were able to get a deer on your 1st ML hunt. Luke in turn has been very generous with helping out the deer that live on and around my property by providing over 1200 lbs of apples. Granted it propbaby made it easier for him and Bob to get there ML deer, but hey, I am sure the deer enjoyed the snack too. LOL Luke has also offered to purchase all the food plot seed for our next season in which I have not tried planting plots before so I am interested in this. Nevertheless I do not require or ask for any money or help from those who hunt my property. But I am no dummy. I will accept any offeres of help and feed for the deer.. VermontHunter
Re: An Extented Thankyou !!!! The apples sure did help and were my pleasure and as for the seed for the plots that's the least we can do for the deer herd wether we hunt the plots or not. If people treated landowners with more respect we would not have issues on were to hunt.
