Anti's movie is coming

Here is an interview with some of the actors of the new childrens cartoon Open Season. This is bad stuff. It's Open Season On Hunters

The cast and crew of the upcoming animated movie Open Season told SCI FI Wire the movie has an anti-hunting message. "I think that hunting and killing anything for sport, just for fun, is just something that I can't wrap my mind around," Debra Messing, who voices an anti-hunting park ranger, said in an interview. "I wish that it didn't exist."

Open Season, the animated feature from Sony Pictures Animation, follows Messing's character, Beth, who raises a bear cub named Boog (voiced by Martin Lawrence). She needs to release him into the wilderness because he's getting too big for their small town.

The idea of the story came to syndicated cartoonist Steve Moore (creator of the In the Bleachers comic strip) when he read news accounts about wild animals that get domesticated because they live so close to cities. "Animals would invariably do something to seriously annoy the townspeople, and they would be tranquilized and moved to the wilderness," Moore said. "I always wondered what happened once they were dropped off in the wild, having lived on leftovers most of their lives. How did they survive in the woods?"

The movie also stars Ashton Kutcher, Patrick Warburton, Billy Connolly, Jon Favreau, Jane Krakowski and Georgia Engel. The film is scheduled to be released nationally on Sept. 29. In the story, the animals in the wild mount a counterattack against a group of hunters. Lawrence, who voices the lazy bear, quipped, "I don't know that much about hunting. The only thing I've ever hunted was roaches." —Mike Szymanski

Re: Anti\'s movie is coming

Since you quoted one of the actors for the voice of one of the characters, Debra Messing, who is the voice for the anti-hunting park ranger;

Here is another quote from a different interview with another actor with a leading voice in the animated movie.

Ashton Kutcher

The Iowa farm boy grew up among the corn fields in the US Midwest and had never been near any oceans or beaches. He explains, "At home, I shoot guns and chop wood. I grew up hunting deer, rabbits, and squirrels."

It will be a fun movie for kids.

If you want to watch a fun movie for adults, watch Jeff Foxworthy and Travis Turner in the shooting contest against the Realtree guys.

If you will remember, they had to shoot through the truck door window at the target.

Didn't you get the humor in that?

Or did you think it was serious, and a blight against all hunters?

Lighten up guys, it's an animated movie, a full length cartoon.

It really isn't worth our time and effort.

How long did the kids actually avoid bacon, pork chops, and ham after seeing the movie Babe?

Funny you should say that.... I remember people saying the same thing about Bambi before it was released and that movie has set us back ever since.

I am going to take my 2 & 5 year olds to see the movie Friday. My daughter wants to go just because it is a hunting movie. I HIGHLY doubt it will change her mind about hunting but I will be prepared for any questions since I will be bear hunting in another week grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gifSMACKDOWN BABY!!

The original Bambi was released in 1942, and I saw it when I was about 7 or 8 . By that time it had already been in the theaters for about 12 years.

I doubt RangerClay, that you are that old.

Seeing the movie at an early age did not affect me, affect me, affect me, affect me.
