Randyman Posted December 6, 2004 Report Share Posted December 6, 2004 A couple of weeks ago i posted that i had taken my first muzzleloader deer ever, a 7 point buck, and still had a "muzzleloader only" tag that i hoped to fill by taking a doe. Well, i managed to do just that Sunday morning! She was a fat, healthy, 1 1/2 year old that field dressed at about 110 lbs. Typical for the "big woods" of Hardin County, Illinois. Once again, i am impressed with the performance of the Powerbelt 295 gr. aerotip bullet. Expansion was good and the wound channel was devastating. Complete penetration on a double lung shot left a good blood trail. She ran about 75 yards before tipping over. Cover was fairly heavy, so i was thankful for the good blood.
